Symptoms of Anxiety Disorders

Panic Disorder

Someone with panic disorder can experience a sudden panic attack that is characterized by intense fear, palpitations and shortness of breath. Some sufferers experience a feeling of choking or an inability to breathe. It’s quite common for those suffering from a panic disorder to worry intensely about the onset of another attack or even try to avoid places where a panic attack occurred.

General Symptoms

People who suffer from anxiety disorders often cannot manage their symptoms without help. Symptoms such as profound fear, a relentless cycle of worrying and even accompanying physical symptoms like rashes, hair loss and weight loss can detract from a person’s life and health.

Recognizing an anxiety disorder can be difficult for sufferers as many fears and worries may have a rational basis. However, it’s the relentless onslaught of worries and their incessant presence over a significant period of time that should cause one to suspect a disorder may be present.
