Ben Brafman, LMHC, CAP — CEO, Founder

Ben Brafman, LMHC, CAP is the CEO and Founder of Destination Hope, The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center, The Academy for Addiction Professionals, and the founder of Guardian Behavioral Health Foundation. Ben holds a BS degree from Syracuse University and a Dual Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling and Family Therapy from Barry University. With more than twenty years of hands-on experience, Ben is a leading authority in the field of Substance Use Disorders and treatment protocols. As an entrepreneur, Ben established programs offering individualized care with a one-to-one ratio between patients and staff. He created the first gender-specific, age-specific, and mental health program in the field. These diversified programs attribute to a successful model that he even teaches to other treatment center owners who have adopted his methods for treating addiction. Ben’s growing success of Destination Hope is a testament to his genuine passion to help others.

Suzanne Brafman, LCSW — CFO, Founder

Suzanne is the Chief Financial Officer and co-founder of Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center. She has been working in the substance abuse and mental health field since 1993 and received her masters in social work from Florida International University in 1995. In addition to managing the finances, she sees clients individually and as couples to help them re-assimilate into their previous relationships in a healthy way. Suzanne loves finding creative solutions to help people by thinking out of the box and involving the whole family in the recovery process.

Michael Taylor, RN, CD, BC – Clinical Nurse Liaison

Michael is a Registered Nurse with National Certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health, Behavioral Health and Chemical Dependency. He has been working in the field of Mental Health and Substance Abuse for over 27 years, helping clients and their families in both the private and corporate sector. Michael is also an interventionist.

Sarah Kostrub, LCSW – Director of Clinical Services

Sarah Kostrub is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of Florida. She comes to us with over 15 years of varying experience working in the Mental Health and Substance Abuse fields both in the private setting and in community mental health. She earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Central Florida and attended Gordon College where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Communications. Sarah has lived in the South Florida area for over 20 years and is well established in the social services community. Sarah is passionate about her work and feels privileged to be able to witness personal growth and transformation taking place in the lives of the people with whom she works.

Harvey Glotzer – Human Resources Director

Born and raised in New York, Harvey moved to Colorado in his late 20’s. Once there he worked as an operations manager for a large telecommunications company for 15 years. During his time there, he supported the sales force, credit and finance operations teams which affected more than 50 million customers. He moved to South Florida to join the team at Destination Hope as the Human Resources Director, where he has worked diligently to add more corporate structure to the company while providing amazing HR support for the staff. Harvey loves the sun and beach in South Florida, but most of all working with this great team at Destination Hope as Human Resources Director.

Allison Seriani — Public Relations & Communications

Allison Seriani brings twelve years of experience in Marketing, PR and Communications. She graduated from the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida in 2006 and was a former sister of Zeta Tau Alpha. She spearheads all Public Relations and Communications efforts for Destination Hope which include digital marketing strategy, branding, graphic design, and event and conference planning.

Andrew Merker – Director of Admissions

Andrew has been working in the recovery field for the last eight years. He has provided counseling work in both adolescent and adult facilities. He has over five years of admissions experience in the addiction field. As our Director of Admissions Andrew helps families navigate the process of admissions to make sure each client meets criteria and help in maximizing their potential for recovery. Andrew also uses his knowledge and experience at the Academy of Addiction Professionals to educate students in the field.
